About me
Who am I

My name is Lawrence Oluyede. I live in Treviglio, Italy with my family and my dog Romeo.
My very start with software development has been on a Commodore 64 a lot of years ago. The first programming language I mastered was Pascal in its Turbo Pascal dialet.
I came across object orientation with Delphi and Object Pascal.
After some time spent on the edge of the Italian .NET community and the selling of one library I found myself in the middle of a terrific community such as Python’s, thanks to Alex Martelli.
I consider myself reasonably comfortable with Python and cross platform programming.
I used a lot Windows, then moved to Linux but found my favourite environment, at least for now, with Mac OSX and my black Macbook.
I enjoy freedom languages.
What I do or did
I wrote a chapter of the first Italian Ruby Book, Ruby per applicazioni Web by Marco Ceresa, and contributed as a technical reviewer.
I’m a founder member of Python Italia APS, a non-profit association promoting Python in Italy and organizing national PyCons.
I had the pleasure to participate in 2006’s Google Summer of Code, for the PyPy project.
I’ve been recently (August 2007) hired by StatPro Italy, part of StatPro Group in Milan, Italy.
